Colorado Sports Betting Revenue Soars In February

In February 2025, Colorado’s sports betting GGR reached $46.4 million, a substantial rise from $25.8 million recorded in February 2024. This leap signals a robust recovery and growth trajectory for the state’s sports betting market. However, it is essential to note that this figure represents a 23.9% decline from January 2025, where GGR peaked at $60.9 million.

Several factors contributed to the remarkable increase in GGR:

  1. Increased Participation: A growing number of bettors have engaged in sports betting, driven by the expansion of online platforms and the accessibility of mobile apps.
  2. Promotional Offers: Many sportsbooks have introduced attractive promotions and bonuses, enticing new users and encouraging existing bettors to wager more.
  3. Major Sporting Events: The presence of significant sporting events in February, particularly basketball, played a crucial role in boosting betting activity.

In February 2025, the total amount wagered in Colorado reached $496.6 million. This figure marks a 7.5% decrease compared to February 2024’s $536.99 million and a notable drop from January 2025’s $657.2 million.

Online vs. Retail Betting

The distribution of wagers between online and retail platforms is noteworthy. In February, $493.6 million was wagered online, while $2.99 million was placed in retail settings.

Basketball emerged as the most popular sport for wagers in February 2025. Bettors placed $163.99 million in online bets and $1.1 million in retail bets, accounting for 33% of the total sports betting handle. This dominance reflects the sport’s popularity and the impact of ongoing basketball events during the month.

While basketball led the charge, other sports also contributed to the overall betting landscape. Football, hockey, and various other sports saw varying levels of engagement.

Online sports betting generated $46.2 million of February’s total GGR, indicating the significant role of digital platforms in the state’s betting ecosystem.

In contrast, retail betting accounted for only $152,547 of the GGR in February.
