Missouri casinos show slight revenue increase in October

The Missouri Gaming Commission has reported that the state’s casinos in October generated adjusted gross revenue of $151.4 million, a 1 percent increase from the $150 million collected in October 2023 and almost the same monthly increase from the $150 million in revenue in September.

Ameristar Casino Resort Spa St. Charles continues to provide the most AGR for Missouri, collecting $23.9 million in October, good for more than 15 percent of the total. However, this amount was its lowest for fiscal year 2025, with a decrease of 0.2 percent.

The only other casinos that generated more than $20 million in AGR were River City Casino Hotel and Hollywood Casino & Hotel St. Louis. Both posted year-over-year increases of between 10 and 12 percent.

While the overall picture year-over-year was positive for Missouri casinos, most saw revenues slip. Argosy Casino & Hotel posted a 5 percent drop, Isle of Capri Boonville Casino saw a 7 percent drop, Harrah’s Casino Kansas City an 8 percent fall, Ameristar Casino Kansas City a 1 percent slip and a 5 percent fall at Century Casino & Hotel Caruthersville.

The locations with the most significant revenue drops were Horseshoe Casino St. Louis and Mark Twain Casino, which posted drops of 15 percent and 13 percent, respectively.

Even amid the release of this casino revenue report, all eyes are on Missouri sports betting after it was approved by a narrow margin in the November ballots. The Missouri Gaming Commission Chairman recently revealed that the organization is using its casino licensing model as a template for sports betting.
